The First Arabian Drug Information Center (FADIC), A New Vision of Clinical Pharmacy Education and Training

The past decades have witnessed a great advancement in the field of clinical pharmacy education and training.
Despite being a well-established service long ago in the developed countries, Drug information centers are beginning to emerge as a new service in the Middle East and Arabic countries.
Launched in October, 2014, FADIC combined the idea of drug information centers with the flexibility of Internet-based services.
Definition of Service:
FADIC is an online drug information center, available in both Arabic and English language.
All the team members are board certified pharmacotherapy specialists (BCPS). It aims at improving the quality of medication use practice and increasing healthcare awareness.
As FADIC offers a variety of online training, it holds online conferences to help pharmacists stay updated with the latest in clinical practice.
One of the essential programs provided by FADIC is the “Drug Information program and workshop”, with four successful runs so far.
All FADIC team is available to answer any inquiries, providing evidence-based recommendations.

FADIC’s services are available online through the website (www.fadic.net/en) and on the social media through Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
Web-Based learning is conducted through FADIC’s website (https://fadic.net/en/courses). Interactive Discussions are conducted through GoToMeeting online meeting rooms.
The online surveys such as Pre & Post Program Survey, Post Session Survey and Middle program survey are adopted to assure the quality of the achievement of The Learning Program objectives.
It was then distributed by e-mail to assess the quality of strategies used in pharmacy education, Most survey respondents are evaluated after each session.
In the middle of the program and by the end of the program to evaluate the effectiveness of each session, the streaming of the sessions and the quality of our program from scientific and practice pattern.
Adaptability:
FADIC provides a first of a kind service in the Middle East. It can be easily integrated into any institution, is available online, easy to access anywhere and anytime.
As it is online, It provides an affordable and easy-to-study option for the pharmacists internationally.
In FADIC, There is a variety of international online training accredited by FADIC and provided by well-reputed professionals in the field.
Which means that you can always keep up with the latest topics in your specialty wherever you are and whenever you need it.
In addition, to meet professionals in your field and keep updated with the latest in pharmaceutical and clinical practices, this is achieved by attending online conferences and symposiums.
Significance:
FADIC offers its services in a convenient way, requiring only a computer or smartphone and an internet connection.
The service is gaining more attention and appreciation, followers and visitors exceed 220,000 with the numbers continually rising.
Thus, FADIC is expected to gain a leading position in the healthcare system in the following years, becoming one of the most demanded evidenced-based services in the Middle East.

A) FADIC online Conferences, Symposium, Webinar, and Events are:
Diabetes Conference with sessions about diabetes medications, 2016 Updates, many case-discussions, Patient-Simulation which was an impressive example to have doctors with the patient.
The speakers were from everywhere Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and from Malaysia, The attendee was 70-80 pharmacist from all around the world (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Malaysia)
FADIC Talks (First and Second Season, In episodes with all attendee about 400 pharmacists from pharmacist from all around the world. In addition Speakers from (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA, Canada)
Lastly FADIC Cardiology Conference with speakers from Cleveland Clinic Abo-Dhabi, John-Hopkins America, Nasser institute in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Sooner Online Patient Counseling Events with international speakers.
By the end of this year, there will be FADIC Pharmacy Congress. The congress will have both presentations and workshops, Also there will be the plan for 2017 online conferences.
B) FADIC Online Continuous Improvement Programs are:
FADIC Drug Information Program& Workshops, it includes 13 sessions + 13 workshops + final Journal presentation. Attendee mainly from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. (4 Runs with total 85 Pharmacist).
FADIC Patient Counseling & Education Program and Workshops,it include 9 sessions + 9 workshops + final patient counseling event next month with case discussion and prescriptions and patient simulations. Attendee of program mainly from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and UAE. (1 Run with 14 Pharmacists).
