Evidence-Based Medicine Course Description:

  • Evidence-Based Medicine program introduces the concept and principles of Evidence-Based Medicine.
  • The program develops the knowledge and skills necessary for using scientific evidence in clinical decision-making.
  • The EBM program focuses mainly on the analysis and application of descriptive, relational, and qualitative research evidence and the critical analysis of research on intervention effectiveness.
  • Participants will examine issues of internal, external, and statistical validity as they relate to the appropriate use of evidence for clinical decision-making

Evidence-Based Medicine Course Purpose:

  • Pharmacists make numerous decisions when they provide care to patients, and these decisions should be informed by the best evidence available from sound clinical research and patients’ values and preferences.
  • The practice of EBM increases pharmacists’ confidence in decision-making, providing a high quality of care.
  • Additionally, communicating clearly and efficiently with colleagues, other health professionals, patients, and their families.

  • Validity assessment, Result assessment, and Application.

6- Systematic Review Studies Critical Appraisal

  • What is Meta-analysis? – Narrative review & Systematic review.
  • The process of meta-analysis and Meta-analysis: the critical appraisal.

7- DIAGNOSIS Studies Critical Appraisal

  • Fundamental concepts of diagnostic studies (Validity appraisal, Interpreting results).

8- Barriers and Overcome Strategy to apply the evidence

  • Approach for Assessing the EBP Cycle, More Examples of Critical Appraisal. and Evidence-Based Resources.

Dr Rasha is the CEO of FADIC. She was in Tanta university hospital, Egypt. In 2013, she received TQM from an American university, BCPS, CPHQ, and M.Sc. in Clinical Pharmacy. She received certification from SIDP. She obtained the add qualification from the American Board in infectious disease. Leaded MM CBAHI Saudi accreditation. Established stewardship committee and implementation in MCH, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

She shared in item exam writing for BCIDP Exam. She shared as a reviewer in infectious diseases PSAP. Authorship for published around 20 papers. One paper about the vision of 2030 for the general pharmaceutical department in Saudi Arabia. She received TLC certification from ACCP academy. Moreover, a personal, professional, stewardship leadership, and research consultant. Share in strategic planning, hospital accreditation, and stewardship education.
