  • In response to the coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, healthcare systems worldwide have stepped up their infection prevention and control efforts in order to reduce the spread of the infection.
  • Behaviours, such as hand hygiene, screening and cohorting of patients, and the appropriate use of antibiotics have long been recommended in surgery, but their implementation has often been patchy.
  • For achieving sustainable change in IPCS practices in surgery during COVID-19 and beyond we need to enhance organizational learning potentials.

The effect of electronic audits and feedback in primary care and factors that contribute to their effectiveness: a systematic review

The aim of this systematic review was

  • to assess whether electronic audit and feedback (A&F) is effective in primary care and
  • to evaluate important features concerning content and delivery of the feedback in primary care, including the use of benchmarks, the frequency of feedback, the cognitive load of feedback and the evidence-based aspects of the feedback.

This systematic review included 29 articles examining electronic A&F interventions in primary care, and 76% of the interventions were effective.
