Pseudomonas aeruginosa and nutritional status
- A cross-sectional study aimed to describe the relationship between Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) prevalence and lung function, as well as the nutritional status, and type of mutation in adult patients with Cystic Fibrosis.
- The results indicate that The presence of PA is associated with poor lung function and undernutrition .
- Also, Deterioration of lung function, undernutrition and severe type of mutation are linked to a higher probability of Pseudomonas aeruginosa acquisition and resistance to antibiotic treatment.

Dietary fiber and prebiotics
- Dietary fiber is a group of heterogeneous substances that are neither digested nor absorbed in the small intestine. Some fiber can be classified as prebiotics if they are metabolized by beneficial bacteria in the gut.
- A review aimed to specify the prebiotics properties of different subgroups of dietary fibers (resistant oligosaccharides, non-starch polysaccharides, resistant starches, and associated substances) to classify them by prebiotic categories.
- Currently only fructans , inulin and galactans are documented as prebiotics.

Preterm birth and neurodevelopment
- Preterm births are higher risk of neurodevelopment (NDV) disabilities. A study aim to discover the effects of an energy-enhanced PN in the first week of life on long-term NDV in preterm neonates. The study compared two Cohorts (A energy-enhanced PN and B energy-standard PN) of newborns with different energy intake in the first 7 days of life. The results conclude that High energy intake through parenteral nutrition have not effects on neonatal outcomes.

High quality diets
- A study aim To evaluate the association between diet quality, assessed by the Diet Quality Index for Brazilian Adolescents and cardiometabolic markers.
- The results indicate that The effects of diet quality on cardiometabolic risk factors differ according to sex and the presence of overweight/obesity.
- In normal weight girls, higher quality diets reflect in a better lipid profile and better glucose metabolism.
- Also, In boys, higher quality diets positively influence the lipid profile.

Manuka and Kanuka honey
- An article gives an overview about specific aspects of New Zealand manuka and Kanuka honey.
- The review addresses antimicrobial effects of these two honeys, which are ascribed to peroxidic and non-peroxidic compounds, as well as ant oxidative activity and other effects of medical relevance such as anti-inflammatory or wound healing properties.
- The article also discusses the state-of-the-art concerning possibilities to distinguish manuka and Kanuka honey, which is important because of the price differences and potential fraud.

Qingzhuan tea
- Qingzhuan tea (QZT) is a dark tea which is widely consumed by Chinese national minority whose staple diets are high fat.
- A study aims to explore the changes in gut microbial communities mediated by a 16-week QZT extract consumption in a diet-induced obese mice model through 16S rRNA sequencing.
- The results demonstrate that QZT extract can significantly prevent body weight gain, fat accumulation, and also reduce serum levels of total cholesterol and triglycerides.
